REHEARSAL DETAILS

Rehearsing at St Edmunds Church, Fishergate, Norwich, NR3 1SE

Rehearsals will start Sun 18th Jan 26

Rehearsals are on Sundays from Sun 18th Jan to Sun 21st Mar, plus a final rehearsal on Sat 28th Mar 26.

You will not be required for every rehearsal and will only be called for the songs you are performing.  The draft rehearsal schedule is in the Audition Pack, but this will be amended once auditions are completed and songs assigned to soloists.

Please make sure you have checked the draft schedule, which is available in the Audition Information Pack on the link below.

During the audition process, you will be asked to let us know of any planned absences – please let us know all your commitments  for Jan to Mar, so we can ensure you are going to be available when we re-draft the schedule to account for any notified absences from selected soloists.

We will accommodate reasonable absences that we know about in advance.  Auditionees with excessive absences or who are unavailable for key dates may not be cast, but please book an audition if you are keen and discuss any issues you have with us.

Please be honest about any prior commitments.  Frequent, undeclared absences could result in being removed from the show during the rehearsal process.  If your planned absences have been agreed upon by the team in advance and you are cast in the show, your absence will not be an issue.

”AUDITIONS
Sat 10th / Sun 11th Jan 26

There are 6 audition sessions to choose from – you need only attend one session:

  1. Sat 10th Jan: 1600-1830hrs
  2. Sat 10th Jan: 1900 -2130hrs
  3. Sun 11th Jan: 0930-1200hrs
  4. Sun 11th Jan: 1230-1500hrs
  5. Sun 11th Jan: 1530-1800hrs
  6. Sun 11th Jan: 1830-2100hrs

Each audition session will last 2.5 hrs and you will attend for the whole session.  It will be a group audition that will start with a warm-up, then an ensemble singing workshop, followed by soloist auditions.

For the ensemble singing workshop, you do not need to learn anything – you will be taught the group number during the workshop.

If you wish to be considered for one of the 20 soloist opportunities, you will need to prepare a solo audition.  There are a choice of audition cuts in the Audition Information Pack and you should choose a song from that selection that best suits your voice.  Please also prepare a second option, in case the panel want to hear you sing a different voice part.

We will be looking for soloists to show good ‘acting through song’ skills during their audition, so please ensure you have researched the song and understand the story you are telling.

You can audition for the Chorus and, if this is your choice, you will not need to sing a solo audition song, but you may be asked to sing the ensemble workshop song in small groups, or the panel may ask you to sing part of the ensemble song solo, in order to hear your voice.

All audition material can be found in the Audition Information Pack, along with the Draft Rehearsal Schedule.
